Hot dogs are always a popular party food so be sure to make lots of these and keep them warm in the oven.
12 mini hot dog baps or tiny finger rolls
6 frankfurters
1 onion, quartered and thinly sliced
Little oil
2tsp soft brown sugar
1tsp brown sauce
Mustard and tomato ketchup
1. Warm the oven to 350 F/180C/Gas Mark 4. Slit the baps through the middle to half open and warm through along the frankfurters, halved and wrapped in a foil parcel.
2. Heat the oil in a small pan and fry the onion until just softening. Then add the sugar and sauce and cook for a further 5 minutes gently until really soft.
3. To serve fill the baps with a little onion, top with a half frankfurter and leave guests to squeeze on mustard and ketchup to their hearts content!
Tip:
If you prefer just serve a selection of chutneys and relishes with the hot dogs.
