Autumn Fruit Compote recipe

This rich dried fruit mix is a great start to the day served with crème frâiche, fromage frais or natural yoghurt.

Prep time: 5mins + chilling
Cook time: 10mins

Ingredients



175g dried apricots
125g dried figs
50g dried apples
300ml apple juice
Juice and rind 2 lemons

Method



1. Place the dried fruit in a bowl with the apple juice, lemon rind and juice. Leave to soak in the fridge or a cool place for several hours.

2. Transfer to a pan and simmer for 30 minutes or until tender, adding a little water if the liquid has reduced too much.

3. Serve hot or chilled with fromage frais or yoghurt.
